Computer Setup for Violent Python Projects

Best Choice: Kali Linux

The projects were written for Kali; everything you need is all set to go. Log in as root with password toor and open a Terminal window by clicking the little black square icon at the top of the Desktop.

Other Linux, Such as Ubuntu

Python: already installed.
Terminal: How to open a Terminal window
Wireshark: On Ubuntu, in a Terminal window, execute this command:
sudo apt-get install wireshark

Mac OS X

Python: already installed.
Terminal: How to open a Terminal window
Wireshark: Download it here

Windows

Python: Get the latest 2.7 version here
Notepad: Write your Python scripts in Notepad; save files with a .py extension (not .txt).
To run a script: Right-click, "Open With", Python
To edit a script: Right-click, "Open With", Notepad
Add this line to the end of your scripts to keep the window open:
x = raw_input("Press Enter to Continue")
