Purpose
To learn how to use GitHub,
common security flaws, and how to
avoid them.
Creating a GitHub Account
If you already have an account, you can
use it.
If not, in a Web browser, go to
https://github.com
Enter your CCSF email. Follow the on-screen process to
create an account,
as shown below.
Learn how to use GitHub
After verifying your email, you see
the "What do you want to do first?"
page,
as shown below.
Click the "Start Learning"
button.
Click the "Start Introduction to GitHub"
button,
as shown below.
Complete the Training
The training is pretty confusing. I
found it helpful to open the videos
in a new tab. The steps move
from one section of GitHub to another,
so I often had to go hunt for them.
There are eight steps,
ending with the one shown below.
